Bit hard to tell but looks like an injury likely from smashing into the mopani wood. Add a bit of salt and keep the water very clean and he should recover. If it is more symmetrical it could be hith but it looks more like a fresh wound to me
looks like a flesh wound from a decor or fighting another fish, i suggest melafix, some salt or just let it heal in a separate tank
