Do you like pacu?

For some reason When ever somebody posts a pic of theirs it seems to get flamed. Yes, they are not for the common aquarist, but we are not common aquarists, we are MFKers!
its not that folks dont like them. they are just irritated by the people who keep them in little talks. other than folks like Liz (Reddevil), few people take good care of pacus.
I love them.. someone who has never owned them can never really understand that it is not wasting tank space it is giving one or two special fish who have more personality then you can get from 100 fish a big home... they smile, they splash, they greet you with a big barrage of happiness.. they are probably the most happy fish in existence..they love carrots and squash and bananas and grapes.. you can share their food.. a bite for you and a bite for me..they keep you eating healthy..
Anyone who says they have an ugly face better look at the cartoons they watched as kids again.. they are straight from the cartoons.. their big wide grin and sweet eyes make you want to laugh.. any body that never owned and grew up a pacu cannot judge what we know about owning one of these special guys.. and how they are sooooooooo worth it..

I love them.
although I too was a victim of ignorance back when I started.
the first fish I bought after getting a 90 gallon tank (which was monstrous compared to my 30s and 20s at the time) was a pacu..
I knew they got big, but 20 inches later, lol, it was too much.
I kept him for about 7 years though, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to move him to a 65 gallon, which, as you might imagine, did not work too well.
I found him a home in the 125 gallon at the LFS, and he apparently was sold for 25 dollars (cheap) to a family with a 180..
Hopefully, he is doing well, and still with us..
