Do you name your fish?

Do you name your fish the same as you would a dog or cat? Do you have a hard time telling them apart once you name them?

Let's hear those names and types.. and get a look at your 'named' fish.

We love naming our own fish but we like to wait to make sure they are going to mix in well with the tank. Once they are stable.. they get named!

Our Red bellied Piranhas are named Larry, Moe and Curly. Our Blood Parrot is named King James. Our purple jelly bean parrot is named Ivan Killgrave.

Past named Fish: Clown Knife named John Wayne Gacy. Ropefish named Jormungand. Black sailfin molly named Sayid Jirah.

I can't help but name my fish, possibly coz they have so much personality that they are not much different to dogs or cats to me...

Anyway, on with the names:

Palembang Puffer: (Male) Homer (Female) Marge

Spotted Congo Puffer: Hoover

Even my Marble Cray has a name: Pinchy

We used to have a GSP who we (un)creatively named Puff Daddy. lol

Silver Arowana 24" - Goliath
Leporinus fasciatus 12" - Leonitus
Oscar (albino) 12" - Pinky
and more names to come as I am adding more fish, 2 Arapaima, Tiger cat, etc..

Our mom named her 2 goldfish George and Gracie.

I keep forgetting and adding more on! Several of our tank residents are awaiting names.

Large Frontosa was D'bo

Freshwater Flordia Ray was named, well Ray

I do. I have Mr. Moby Moo (tiger shovel nose), Moses (domino syno), Merlin (giant gourami) and I have a breeding pair of convicts, biggin an bob. Bob is actually the female. She was little when I named her and now it's stuck.

i never thought about naming fishes and people have asked me do i name them, i find it weird (no offense) but now i actually will name few fishes, not all of them i guess. even though they can't hear i think i'll name them just because i read this post

ive only named a few, growing tiger oscar 5" whos name is Roger, RES turtle named Franklin, 11" Senegal named Gallagher....oh and a betta ive had the longest named Darla. I dont name most of my fish though it just kind of happens if they are cool enough
