I want to order some fish from Rehoboth Aquatics. I know all of his bichirs are wild caught. I was just wondering if you guys quarantine bichirs from him before you put them in your main tank.

You should ALWAYS quarantine your fish, no matter where they come from. Most people get lucky by not doing so but would you really want to take the risk?

all fish should be placed in a QT after purchase, but with that said, do most people do it? i dont think so..

I have ordered from him in the past and not quarantined, and gotten away with it. I would still check for flukes, which are pretty common among wild bichirs. Toyin sells high quality stock, and quarantines, but to be safe you should probably have a QT. I haven't had any bichirs from him have flukes. Always a nice experience, and was like x-mas morning when the package showed up. lol

DO IT. I've got a tank full of bichirs infected with bichir worms just because of a 3" endli. And I have to spend more than $50 worth of WaterLife Sterazin to nuke my entire tank instead of just $10 if I've just quarantined and deworm the endli in a small tank. Now I always quarantine any new bichirs from the LFS, regardless of whether it is WC or CB. Only exception is when I purchase my bichirs from other trusted hobbyist.

I would always quarantine when getting wild caught bichir due to parasites, but in regards to rehoboth aquatics i believe he treats all his bichirs before he releases them for sale so when dealing with them i would not worry. But whenever bringing a fish in from anyones tank there is a possibility it could have somehting and by not quaratining your taking a risk.

you really should. I don't since I don't really have room for a the extra tank. I have paid dearly in the past for putting what I thought were healthy fish from a reputable place in my tank.

Wild Caught bichirs and rope fish are prone to anchor worm. I always just treat for it unless I’m getting the fish from a friend and it’s been in an aquarium for a while. They are the only types of fish I treat no mater what. I've never had a problem with anyother type of fish but most of my tanks are single species tanks so it's kinda like a quarantine anyway.
