it is better to buy/rescue a fish know u can't properly care for it but can give better than the average person or is it better to not buy the fish. personally i don't think that there are enough people with that mind set to cause a difference so i think if u want it then get it and do the best u can. yeah some people might see it as feeding the monster but i just don't think not getting it will change anything.

Get the fish, grow it up and give it to someone who you know CAN properly care for it, at least then you know it wasn't sold to just anyone.

I agree. If you have a marginally acceptable setup, it's worth taking in a fish and doing the extra water changes for awhile. The problem starts when you do it again and again without moving out your rescued fish.

If had several oscars that i rescued on different occasions. one was so badly beaten that i didn't think it had a chance, after a few months he was four times the size and i gave him to a friend, it's probably one of the better looking oscars I've ever seen

i am talking about buy a fish for your self to keep. for instance i bought an mbu puffer. now i don't know how long until i can put it in a massive 1000+ gallon aquarium like so many people say or even bigger than a 300. some people will say that this is bad cause i am supporting the sell of this fish to people not able to give it a proper home, but i think that me not buying it won't change the fact that someone else would have. and i feel i can give it a better home than most people could/will.

then no i disagree, because how do you know someone with the proper requirements wouldn't have shown up and bought him? unfortunately buying a mbu puffer with anything less then a 210 gallon aquarium waiting in his future was poor judgment on your part, hes going to be miserable when he gets larger.

oh i didn't quite understand your post then, i apologize, you didn't make yourself clear about owning a 300 gallon
