my mind was just wandering and it popped up in my head. Do you think its possible? I know marbled crays reproduce parthonogenically(sp?)
but there is a species of lizard here that also reproduces a similar way, and there has been documented hybrids of them.
So maybe I could try male procambarus clarkii to a marbled cray? Both are in the same genus.

Is there some detail im overlooking that makes it impossible?

Considering they clone themselves i'm not too sure if they would even mate with another cray?

So i'll go with the fact that if they actually get as far as doing the dirty, then yes there MAYBE a chance for them to hybridize, but for the most part, i'm going to guess no, no likely...

There have few cases of Amazon mollies hybridizing with other molly species but that is very rare.

The scientific name for Marmorkrebs is Procambarus fallax f. virginalis. They're an asexual form of slough crayfish (P. fallax) that live across Florida and southern Georgia. If you're going to try breeding with a male, the slough cray male is probably the best to try before P alleni.

Your right, it probably be better to find out if they can even reproduce sexually with its own species first.

I remember a while ago before it was known(our at least before I knew) they were a subspecies of P. fallax, I was just browsing various procambarus species and saw fallax, I thought that it looked a lot like marbled crayfish. Lol
