Someone gave me a bag of Purina Mills Growth and Vigor
For Game Fish
For bluegill/hybrid sunfish/bass
and any other mid size game fish.

it says on the bag for every
2 pounds of food consumed
the fish gains a pound no ingredients on bag
wouldnt be main source of food just a suppliment

I don't think it will harm your fish, but its probably not the best food to feed it. From the sounds of it, that food is intended to fatten up fish very rapidly and thats not healthy. Gaining a pound does not mean growing. Plus getting some pellets or somthing along those lines are well worth the health of your fish.

what concerns me is the fact that there is no nutritional value or ingredients on the package. i agree with the above post about it "fatting" up your fish. i wonder how this would affect our aquarium fishes considering this food is "designed" for game fish.

I know of several members on here who feed their large cichlids Trout Food. And their Cichlids are Beauties. Of course this is just one of a varied diet.

Feeding that food is probably fine as long as it is not their staple diet or anything fed too often. If it is just part of what is fed to them, it shouldn't be bad.

Lots of people who have large operations feed trout or catfish chow as their main feed, I'd use it. Ken

Like said it should not be the staple. If the fish eat it and it doesn't cloud the water then use it. I used to use Trout Chow for a mixed CA tank as a part of the menu and had no adverse side effects.
