Feeder Fish

I have transferred all my polypterus to my FH tank since the Ornate chomped my other Scomb. I moved my Jardini and 9 Clown Loaches into the 55 gal with my remaining Scomb. He's well fed, I don't think he will try to eat something almost his size....but boy those are some NASTY teeth. What do you think...Jardini safe? I'm not too concerned about the Loaches...they are big enough.

scomb do not get that big. Jardini do. So in the long wrong Jar will eat scomb. I have kept quite a few they are not that bad if they well fed.

Kory

yep jardinis growth rate is descent while payara grow very slowly...so like koliveira said, the jardini will eventually be able to eat the scomb....or the jar might kill it long before...Although it is amazing how big a fish a scomb can cram down :headbang2

i have a jar, and 2 scombs. keep everyone fed well, if my scombs dont eat for a day they start eyeing everyone and it kinda scares me. every so often ill see a small chunk out of my jar, but jar is at the top and scomb is at the bottom that helps.

Well.....bye, bye Jardini. Payara decided he wasn't cool, so he ripped his guts out. Funny, it leaves all the clown loaches alone. No more arowana for me, I quit.

Being that the jardini is at the top and the scombs are on the bottom does not help. Look at the scombs eyes there is a reason that they are there, to see there food above them. Eventually your jardine may suffer the same fate as Stonedfish's jardini, unless the jardini gets him first.

sorry about the loss, mine do great togeother, but i guess every fish has theyre own personality
