Do you think it would be possible through selective breeding to make a Flowerhorn all black with spangles? has something like this been done? I would think you would have to breed the FH with the most black and thickest flowerlines. I think it would be a nice looking FH:D

I know someone that was trying to do it, but not sure if they ever succeeded..
He was crossing a snakeskin flowerhorn with a nandopsis tetracanthis..
and another snakeskin with a pollini..
he was aiming for the same goal.. it would be a great looking fish..
Did you have something like this in mind?

for your kind info its a edited image. not a real flowerhorn.

Paratilapia Pollleni/ Fianarantsoa/ Bleekeri pretty much fit your discription a black fh with spangles they'll even get nuchal humps just dunno about giant humps. The mouth is a bit bigger though, but hey you can just pretend its a black FH.

Don't know much about these fish though and if the different names are regional variants. Also sure if they have the same personality potential as fh's.

Otherwise they're a quite nice looking fish would be cool to have a tank with a black back, black sand, and dim lights plus an actinic bulb if it makes the spangles pop. Then you could have one of these guys lurking around like some sort of celestial creature. Hell I might have to try this kinda setup now that it crossed my mind lol.
