a fish can grow faster when they eat other fish?

what? im confused by ur wording. do u mean does a fish grow faster when they eat other fish? if so then i say yes but maybe just because that fish will eat more IMO if the food is live.

lol sorry, I edit it just now, yeah thats what I mean

Live food general increases growth rate, but it all depends on the nutritional content of the food.

feeders fish can probably make your fish life even shorter because they can bring in pathogens.

do fish grow faster if their fed feeder fish(goldfish etc etc)?

i say no!

food with high protein content will. there's no guarantee that the feeder fish has a high content of protein..... Most do not and can potential do more harm then good.

tilapia, silver sides and other frozen fish/seafood u find at the supermarket are are good fish to feed. however, i feel that pellets and flake food should be staple if the fish will accept it. IMO!!!

some fish will not accept pellets, u can either breed/quarantine ur own healthy non feeder fish or feed frozen seafood.

what is essential to a fast growth of fish is not only food but also living conditions and water change, also tank mates will play a crucial role.

i disagree. u should ask my first gar. i raised him from about 2" on feeder fish. 17" in just a year. the other gar havnt been raised on as much feeder fish and more shrimp and tilapia and they are substationaly shorter and less girth. Now i havnt had them for as long but they just cant catch up despite the fact that my florida has slowed substationally

when I had my first bichir before, around 2years ago it was only 4" when I bought it, then for the first 6 months I feed them feeders that I quarantine always, then I notice that they grew up to 7" within that time. Similar thing when I had an oscar before, I always feed him similar feeders, only within a couple months my O almost double its size.
