Careful now, your tinfoil hat is showing.

I use them when going somewhere where I know I'll need cash. The fees are $2~4 but it beats trying to find a Chase bank near me without driving all across town. The small fee is worth the time I save. Aside from that, I never carry cash on me. If I do, I'll put it back in the bank as soon as possible.

Fees?? Almost everyone offers a fee less card these days. And people need credit this day and age. Discover card offers cards with no fees. They even offer a great opportunity to take money off the card at local stores registers called cash over (not a cash advance) without being charged a fee for doing so. Just pay it back at the end of the month.

Just got a DISCOVER card last month. Did not know about this cash over. Pretty neat. Do you need to setup a PIN to get cash back?

As for ATMS, I only use the ones that DO NOT charge. No way am I paying $2-5$ for a $20 withdrawal (only had to do this once in a remote area). I live in Los Angeles & there are like 10 ATMS at every corner.

If you bank with say Wellsfargo, Wellsfargo ATMs will not charge a process fee to use their own ATM...

Yeah I know that, it's the random ones I'm looking for :) It seems like for me Chase banks are way on the other side of town and not worth the drive. And it seems like banks are the ones that charge the biggest fees for non customers vs a random gas station ATM machine. BofA is the worst!

I use the ATM in the corner store by my house sometimes when we order take out. They charge $1.75.

I've seen the atms that are placed outside the stores in NYC. Were I grew up it was known that people often got robbed using them.
