kennesaw, ga
my first two would only eat sinking food, one was a senegal and the other is a delhezi. i grew them as the only two fish in the tank so that may be why they dont eat floating food. my albino senegal has no problem eating from the surface. i guess he learned from watching the other fish in the tank eating form the surface. he loves hakari cichlid gold pellets :D

I've only had 1 that would feed from the surface my female P.p.polli all my others ignored floating pellets -Anne

My current senegal thinks about it, but has such poor eyesight that it's incapable of hitting a moving target. It's also in a tank with african cichlids though, so they normally get to floating food before it gets a chance.

All 3 on my poly sen's eat from the top (pellets) then hit the bottom for market shrimp and sliversides.

My sen did for live guppies who stayed at the top... it swam around and hunted them all night. Otherwise, none of my polys eat from the top.

Most of mine do, only big betty and the delhezi don't, but all the others do.

I have 3 senegals that will eat freeze dried bloodworms from the top. That's basically their staple and has been since they were really young so I guess they just got used to it early on.

All of mine do eat pellets from the surface. Even Endli!:D I am keeping Ornate, Senegal, Delhezi, Endli. Only problem I have would be I have some fish that are pigs that hord the floating pellets. They are still young though. All my polys are 13'' and under. They like hikari cichlid gold, and new life spectrum flowerhorn food, both came from my tank so I figure may as well put it to use!
