hi all, i am searching for information on a few known cases where arowana have been released into the wild and am hoping someone here on MFK may have sighted such information in the past. apparently a fish was caught in the christmas islands and there was also a case of an angler catching a fish in a californian lake or something.. i realise that most people have been educated and now realise that releasing a fish into the wild not a good idea but i also acknowledge it does happen sometimes and has happened with arowana in the past, what im looking for is details of the finds and dates etc. basically im trying to establish when and where these fish have been released whether any natural populations had established or not.
also if there is any information on attempted stockings of these fish either inside or outside their natural range and whether this resulted in any populations or where failed attempts.
