Hi, I feed my Arowana tank frozen smelt. The water smells afterwards like a fish market. Will activated carbon clear the odor?

Also, my friend once used activated carbon a few days before his Arowana died. This had no ties right? Activated carbon should be ok in my tank? Will I have to gradually introduce it, or just use the full recommended dosage from the start?

Thanks.

you dont really dose carbon? Depending on the amount/container you buy itll have a bag or be in a bag. and just add it to your filter.
its harmless, and it should help a bit with the smell. Water changes and covers work best to rid of scents though

Yes, it works for me

No more smells from Hikari stinking pellets

How long does the smell last ?

Whats type of filtration do you have ?

There should be no need for carbon if your water parameters and filtration is kept in check.
