HI,
I WAS WONDERING IF ANY ONE IN HERE HAS OWNED OR HAVE OWNED BEANI, TO ME I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST CICHLIDS OUT THERE , WHEN I GET MY CAMERA I WILL POST PICS OF MY PAIR IN THEIR 75 GALLON HABITAT, BUT IF YOU HAVE PICS OR OTHER COOL INFO POST THEM. BUT TO ME BEANI'S RULE:headbang2

Pics are great, taking off the caps lock is better! :D Would like to see pics though........ :naughty::drool:

I WONDER WHY PEOPLE WORRY ABOUT THE DUMBEST THINGS YOU KNOW I KEEP CAP LOCK ON CUZ I CAN DO THAT BUDDY, WILL HAVE PICS THIS WEEK THOUGH:screwy:

Because it's hard to read. That's why people tell you to take your cap lock off, not because they are being rude or worrying about something dumb. Not putting in CAPS will also help you get as many replies as possible.

Yes, Beani's seem to be pretty rare at the moment. I suspect that will change as a Jeff Rapps just sent out a bunch of them and several other MFK members have been working on breeding them. I think several other vendors will have some soon, not sure they are the exact same local as the ones Jeff is selling though. The pictures looked a little different.

Jeff got his from the fellow who post here who went to Mexico last year and collected them. I also know of a source that is pond rasing them in Florida now so hopefully in the next year there will be enough for everyone. Ken

I have one now at 2" and had an 8" male in the past. Honestly speaking, I am selling it. They are kinda boring looking and VERY sensitive to bloat

i removed the red wolf fish, and instead of him with my 3inch beani i put in 2 tinfoil barbs and 2 giant danio's. when i put them in the tank both beani chase them non stop. these are very aggressive little guys cant wait to grow them out:headbang2
