Hi people.

I donno if this is the correcty spot to post this but maybe some of you guys know some trick or two to remove tartar stains from back and right side of my acrylic tank without damaging the acrylic surface.

The other day I just noticed three tear-like long tartar stains on right side of my tank and some others more at the back of it, my FH aparently caused water to sipill over and somehow I didnt noticed it until it was too late and those spillings soon got into tartar stains.

As you know acrylic get scratched relatively easy, what can I use to remove those nasty stains without damaging the acrylic surface?.... HELP!!.:nilly:

I would think that you would want to use novus or something similar like you would use to polish and buff out an acrylic tank that has already been scratched. There might be an easier way though so you might want to wait for an acrylic owner to chime in.

I have just tried to clean the stains with lemon juice and after that white vinegar, yet stains persist.

I'll keep cleaning them with both lemon juce and vinegar and eventually in they do not dissapear il'' see where I can get novus.

I used CLR. Some people say don't use it but if u rinse the tank really good a few times then let it sun dry. Then let the tank cycle a few times with a charcoal filter your fine.

hey bro what part of mexico city are you from? i didnt know there were any MFK'ers in my neck of the woods! anyways lots of warm water and a soft ponge, should do the trick

At the pet store I worked at we used mr clean magic erasers on the acrylics. It takes damn near anything off it if you rub it long enough or hard enough, plus it is extremely gentle. Just make sure it is slightly damp first. And BE PATIENT.
