Does anyone else have a BGK like this..???

Hi,

iv just found a BGK in my clutches lol its about 6 maybe 7" long....now the man that had it before me said hed had it for 4 years and it grew this in the first and has never grown any bigger.
it was in a 125 with plenty of room and well cared for until he split up with his wife about a year ago.
i asked him how he did his W/Cs because it was in the middle of the house and he had no syphon....he said he doesnt!!! the water was crystal clear, the sand perfect!!! he said he chucks in some flakes maybe once a day if hes around and thats it...he hasnt done a W/C for at least 5 months.
so it wasnt stunted because it had no room, so could it be food or dodgy water??? or have i just got a reject fish???

if anyone could enlighten me i would be grateful.

high nitrates and lack of a proper diet have stunted the fish. clean looking water is deff not a sign of healthy water.

yes but it just looked like a show tank lol hence asking him.
it is now in my 125 and gets a good diet of just about everything, regular water changes and good filtration. hes lively and comes out to play regularly.
so will he grow in the future?

i would think it would grow some more, proboably not to full size but who knows.

hey chloe_21, i think it will still grow although not to its full size considering the period that he has not grown. improper diet is a big factor.
