I bought some very cheap fishing pellets at the fishing shop last weekend. They are fairly small, but still big enough for big fish to eat. I've tried them twice so far, and my catfish (sun and upside down), loaches and plecos are eating them. My aros and pbass also tried them repeatedly, but I always saw them spit it out.

So ... has anyone tried this before? ... any thoughts?

I might have the same stuff. Mine is sold as koi/oscar/cichlid food. My koi and comets love it. My tadpoles love it too. Nothing else will eat it. I think there is too much alfalfa and not enough blood and guts for oscars and other cichlids. Herbivores love it.

I like to go into fishing stores once in a while and pick up some bait or fishing pellets that you may not find in a pet store, just for variety. I thin that if your fish like it you can give it to them...

No ... I think mine is the real cheap stuff. Equivalent of less than US1$ for a biggish bag. They sink too which is cool for the bottom feeders.
