I'm thinking of starting again with my mealworm colony but instead of breeding them ill just wait for them to become beetles and feed them to my aro...is there anyone out there that feeds there fish beetles?

If you guys want to know how to breed them VVVV

I tried feeding them and crickets to my e-cat but he won't eat them. I cared for a full grown African butterfly for a while that would take the worms and cocoons from my fingers but I never tried the beetles. I think it would be fine for an occasional snack, diversity is always good, and they are so easy to breed I'd certainly try it.

I don't think there's any problem with feeding aros with those beetles... just that I don't get them in large numbers. Couple of days ago, fed my red juvenile arowana with 5 beetles. Looks like my aro just loves it. Too bad that no one sells these beetles. I would very much prefer them than crickets (which seems dirtier to me)... another thing is that some crickets make one hell of a noise by flapping their wings and if these noisy ones escape and hanging around the home, I guess my members would be disturbed by those noises in the night.

Make sure you're feeding them to something that eats a lot of insects and crustaceans in the wild, that shell is tough to digest and tough to pass. I know Garter Snakes sometimes pass whole insects because they arent built to digest the shell.
