Does anyone have a discus and an aro in the same tank? I thought I had seen it done b4 but it didn't work for me cause the aro was too big. But I was wondering if I got a small aro and let him grow with the discus in a 120 then bump the up to a 300 if it would work, or would the aro end up eating them??? Thanks for the help.

yes, I do. They are adult discus though, probably will not work with your juvis.

You can see them by clicking the link in my signature.

That is awsome! I think my problem was my aro was bigger than I thought and the discus were smaller than I thought and when I brought them home the aro just wanted to eat them. The tank is mine but myboyfriend who I live with hasn't really talked to me since I got rid of the aro so I was trying to find a way to fix the prob! :-D My discus are about 3 inches across, do you think if I got an aro that was about 5 inches that the would be fine??? Thanks so much!!!

When raising juvinile discus the main concern of the that is the discus. You need to have the temp at 84 degrees and be doing at least 2 water changes a week that are 50% other wise it is likely your discus will not grow to there full potiential. Juvis are also very finickie eaters, if you have other fish in the tank that distupt there feeding, they can become sressed and stop eating no matter how much food is available.

Adult discus are much more stable, the can be kept in a lower temp range and aren't as easily stressed.

You can try anything you like, but a mix like this on should be done only by experienced aquarists.

I have had tanks for about 10 years but I am always learning new things. I have just never had discus. I have no problem waiting till the discus get bigger if that is what is best for them, I do want to keep them healthy. It was just hard to part with the aro.

They are in a 120 and there is a motoro ray and a lima. I have been feeding them freeze dried blood worms, Omega One protein flakes (which they haven't been paying too much attention to) and frozen brine shrimp. The only thig I have seen them eat is the frozen brine shrimp. I was going to also order some black worms. I usually do 1 50% water change a week but I can do two if that would be best.
