Hey MFK. Im back in the hobby and picking up my old habbits of collecting Herichthys. There's one species a friend of mine once had. Even Rapps was selling em at one point, but now my fear is no has em and no one cares. Its a medium sized fish thats primarily grey. not too appealing to most I guess. Herichthys RIO SALTO! First i'd like to hear that people have them. Second that people are breeding them and I can buy some. Anyone is welcome to post pics.
thanks

I still have them. I wouldn't say they are primarily grey. The primary difference in the fish is an elongated caudal peduncle. The fish was "discovered" by Juan Miquel Aritz. Particularly nasty to con specifics. This one killed two of his female mates...which exiled him to a permanent divided tank. They don't breed often. Here's the male.

Aquamojo. I should have known. If there is some thing I'm looking for I might as well check with you first. That's an great pic. The ones I bought from Rapps were grey at 4 " and not a single pearl. Those look a lot lot like carpintis. Mo, while we are discussing your fish, do you have ramsdeni?

Just saw the question, John. I always wanted Ramsdeni, but never able to get my hands on any. I think even Jeff sold the pair he had because he couldn't get them to breed. My next holy grail fish is Hericthys Steindachneri. I have a friend who has a couple that have bred. Just waiting for the high sign. I'm going to empty a 300 gallon tank and keep a pair.
