IM hearing alot about this fish, but there's little info on the net I wanted something for my 20 gal tank and wanted to know how many could you keep, how big they get and do they have teeth like exodons, also if you could rate there aggression that would be cool:popcorn:

I used to have 3. They school together.. usually hide behind the decor.. they do have visible teeth and were a great fish to own. They grow really slow and max around 6". My 3 grew from 1.5" to 3" in about a year or so. I had them in a 30g with a Hujeta and they did fine together.

I miss them and wish I could find more. BTW.. they loved rosies as well as prepared food.

Yes they are.. a LFS had the 3 that I bought, first time I ever seen them and I picked them up for $4 each. I have seen them on aquabid before but I think the guy wanted $25 each.. :screwy:

Cool fish but don't keep them with other fish unless they are bigger.. I had one which I got and didn't really know much about it. After a while my fish started disappearing. I finally figured out this thing was eating them whole after he ate a fish half his size and the tail was hanging out of his mouth. Never saw another one at the local stores. Had the same experience with a clown knife.

Charax gibbosus. I have 7, and they are scale eaters. Completely bullied my dozen+ angelfish in a 220 gal tank to permanently hide behind driftwood. They do not school. Not a good fish. You can have mine. They're right now parked in a 10 gal and I have to separate two out because of aggression.
