Going to rearrange my setup. Would like to keep my male and female betta in my 5gal but i dont think its going to work out. Thinking about keeping my male in the 5gal with a small school or just putting in a divider to keep the male and the female in. Any feedback? I would like to see some of mfk members betta tanks and what tankmates they have.

I would try to breed the male with the female in the 5g.......

You would probably be ok with a divider. I would love to put my "Sapphire" in a 5 gallon but only have so much space in my office.

it may be done, but highly advised not to breed petstore bettas. in 5 with filtration and heater, maybe a snail

I have cherry shrimp in a 5g with a betta. When I bought the shrimp they had 3 stowaway endlers which worked well, too well actually. After a few months I decided to switch from gravel to sand I pulled all of my live plants and found I had around 3 dozen endlers in shrimp so I moved the endlers to another tank for population control and left 8 shrimp.

im always trying to find a betta that looks like this! My petstores bettas are all red or blue halfmoons. I would love to find a blue veiltail like this

It won't work..the male will beat the crap out of the female....unless the two were bred from the same batch and hasn't been isolated into its own tank...once you've seperates a male from the sibblings and put him back in a couple days later he'll most likely be very aggressive...
