I have always felt that lampreys were the most monsterous looking fish out there. Is it Possible/feasible to keep them? Does anyone here keep them? how big do they actually get? Do they require a chiller? I have heard of people keeping small parisitic catfish before and feeding them with larger fish every once in a while and the fish being able to live. Is all Lampreys eat blood? I am really interested in keeping them but can find almost no information about keeping them alive except to use as bass bait.

Lampreys can be kept in an unheated tank with good areation and some current. They will feed on chunks of fish and also calve's liver though this latter is messy and must be promptly removed after the feeding sesion is done, they will also eat earthworms. Warning, they are great escape artists. Lampreys do not mainly feed on blood but rather on flesh that they rasp away from their victims. They are pretty tasty if cooked right and you have access to a lot of them.
