Does anyone know how to make a DIY intank overflow box?

Anyone know have a good step by step procedure to making on of these? I tried googleing it but couldn't find anything. I want it to be inside the tank, not hanging off the side. Thanks

I'd also like to know how they work and how efficient they are since i see alot of saltwater aquariums with them.

so what's the point of it other than taking up space if all it does is feed to the canister input pipe? I thought that an overflow box was it's own filtration unit that acted like an internal filter. Guess not.

The overflow would get your tank water to a sump.
I guess you could run your canisters intake to it, but would seem a waste to me.

Check out www.glass-holes.com They have a great overflow option. It doesn't take up much room inside your tank, it's quiet, easy to install (well you have to drill a hole in your glass) but it's do-able.
