I am looking to buy a pair of breeding Jaguars but would like to have some idea on the worth of these guys and also what the babies are selling for... before i get into another BIG tank.. They are beautiful fish so it is tempting...
Does anyone know what a breeding pair of Jaguar would go for?

It depends on the area, but I would say $25 - $50 for a breeding pair. Juvies sell from around $5 - $15 in my area.
Definitely a cool fish - I used to have a large male. They're huge diggers though. Mine moved all the gravel from half of a 125 gallon to the other side. Plastic plants don't stand a chance!

I've kept Jags for years, never bred them becuase of the mass aggression and size they attain. I would think a breeding pair would go for around $50-60....Juvies go from anywhere between $5-$10.....If you wanted to sell all your juvies to a dealer you would probably get .25 per.....
Thanks all, That gives me a pretty good idea that he was asking top dollar at $80 for the pair..they were really nice though.. so i will think about it and perhaps make an offer .. We Never make money at breeding fish or even horses for that matter..but if it puts a little dent in the expense by making a little money back it is always a help. And thanks for the info on the Jags ...funny rearranging the tank...alot like one of my devils..
Thanks again..these two are a nice pair..they seem a little thin.. other then that healthy..some breeder brought them in to the store so i am sure they have been taken care of during their life.. I quess this is a pretty decent price so i am really getting anxious to make a decision.. Now to figure out where the new tank will go... and where everyone else will be moved too.. so they're will be room.. thanks
Jags are in thetop 5 fish I've bred the most. For a 6-8" mated pair in CT they will go for about 40 bucks. The thing is that they start producing a few thousand babies at peak performance and you will soon flood the local market with jags. And since they are rather dull as babies you will soon find that u aren't getting much from the lfs. I know my lfs owner and even still, after my third spawn i was only getting 50 cents for 1" babies. And the babies took forever for him to sell.

wow you gave me alot of information in your reply.. i never thought about the fact that they don't get really pretty to later on in life.. I would think CT would sell for more but then tthere is alot more competition there.. at least in the bigger city's like Norwalk and Hartford.. Wow you sold him 600 hundred babies..you flooded the market yourself..haha.. that is what we did alot with Angels.. no one has Angels here in upstate NY, so we get to sell to all the stores..although at the moment we are out of those too..but we sold so many at once we flooded the market ourselves..
