no clue. The cheaper alternative would be go to GNC (or any vitamin/wellness store) and get some clove oil. It is usually sold in a pure form for treating tooth aches and what not. Great anesthetic for fish.

I usually just add a few drops to a different small tupperware containers of water. I will take the fish out and add some stress coat to a holding bin (rubbermaid containers work great). Shake the dickens out of one of your containers and add it, slightly stir it and wait 5 minutes. Usually it only takes one or two doses with 5 minute intervals for the fish to be asleep. You might think it's dead, because it's only breathing like once a minute, but it's just napping.

MS-222 perhaps?

I havent viewed at the videos, just guessing.

can someone post up a a good write up on how to make that clove oil stuff...i got confused on how to do it on the first guy who posted up instructions

you a container and put your fish in it. In another container (preferably smaller) add 5-7 drops of clove oil for every gallon of water that is in the fishes holding tank. If you would like, you can add a small amount of grain alcohol (vodka) to help dissolve the oil; since it is alcohol soluble and not water soluble. This is why you shake the mixture of water and oil, because it will disperse in the water better and not hit the fish in drops... which could kill them.

Add a little of the mixture every 5 minutes, allowing the fish to adjust to it's level of sedation. Once the fish is sedated, it will only be blowing it's gills every 45 seconds to a minute. To bring them out of sedation, just put them in some clean fresh water.

Thought it might be tricaine (ms-222) like someone said earlier, since it looks like it was prepackaged.

is it possible if i make a mixture of that formula first, then dump it into the tank where my aro's are? i'm planning to drug them first before tranferring it into a holding container...because it is very difficult if you transfer it into a container of that formula when they are still active, aware and not in a sedated state...and for the record, has anyone made this attempt before? just curious because i dont wanna kill my aro's....these aro's have been in my family for 10years!!! BTW, thanks for the advice cassharper
