Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?

Looks like some type of algae.

Black beard algae or bba. You can spot treat with h202 (hydrogen peroxide)Or florish excel with a syringe, the kind you buy at Walmart for dosing babies not a needle kind. Just squirt the h2o2/excel on the bba. Problem is figuring out why you have it. Are you adding Ferts?

Siamese algae eaters eat bba I believe. Once I figure out what fish is eating it in my community tank I'll chime in. I'm thinking my clown pleco but not sure.
