Does anyone know what this pleco is?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Panaqolus maccus- The Clown pleco, a wood eating species that also enjoys cucumber, yams, squash, zucchini, algae tablets along with frozen foods or meaty pellets a couple times a week. Mine were mostly nocturnal but with time and enough hiding places they came out more overtime. Doesnt get very big either approx. 3-4 inches so a great addition to most community tanks(I have never tryed with cichlids)

My first thought was clown also but doesn't quite look right. Seems more like a Flash pleco...will look into this.

After comparing I am leaning more towads the L204. I was just thinking this was a large specimen that had lost its barring but after comparing your video, netting my plecos and some google images, L204 seems the more accurate of the 2. Good eye W Warborg

So is $50 cad a fair price for it?

I think it looks cool but not sure if I want to drop that much on a small one like that?

Not sure on how big it is but here in KY they are one of the cheaper plecos, I bought mine for $25 at a LFS about 3" or so, probably 5" now, one of the hardy ones, actually have two.
