I'm looking at a 265 gallon Marineland tank-84"x24". I don't like the plastic top frame and center brace. Do any of you guys have this tank and how is it holding up?

Not a 265 no but I've seen a lot of 125's and 180's.

It's my understanding that this is a re-lable and that Marineland dosn't actully manufacture them. The tanks are built for them in an effort to come in under a certian price point. None of them are Euro braced and thats a bit odd for larger tanks but a couple manufacturers now sell large glass tanks that are totally frameless. They carry a lifetime warranty but frankly scare the hell out of me. (The rimless tanks...not the Marineland tanks.)

I have heard bad things about large tanks from marineland. Mostly about them exploding and flooding the house.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've looked at Glasscages, Marineland, All Glass Aquarium, Oceanview, and several others I can't remember all of them right now. The tank I'm going to buy is a 258 gallon made by Deep Sea Aquatics...it seems to be the best quality for the money.

I realize that you already made your decision but I looked at a Marineland tank a lot closer this evening. (just happened to be one in the LSF...LOL
Anyway they seem to have a fairly high opinion of them even in spite of the lack of euro bracing and pointed out that the Marineland tanks are the only ones they carry with bevled corners to cut down on chips.

Sent a PM to you. A bit to long for the thread. :) :) :)

I have 20+ marineland tanks and have never had a problem. I have a 265 that I have had for 3 years.
