also do you have any tips for taking pics of fish with flash but not have the flash reflect off of the tank and wash out half the pic?

The ISO should be in the camera menu somewhere. The better the camera, the less noise produced at high ISO levels. The camera probably has a shutter priority setting, usually an S on the round settings dial.
