Diatomaceous earth is readily available for many filtration applications as well as dietary supplements. (yes, people eat it)

Every once in a while I'll break it out.

I stopped using DE after the announcement of it causing respiratory problems. I've since switched to filter socks which are available for filtering down to 1 micron.

So how much d.a. powder do you use per gallon or do you just put a set amount in the filter?

I usually use a solo cup full

Thanks, going to give it a shot, from some research it sounds like it can polish the water really well and remove any potential parasites. If anyone has had any bad experiences please let me know what to look out for.
