Does anyone use pool filters?

I posted on the filtration thread and got no response. Does anyone use pool sand filter for there ray tanks? I bought a haywArd 18" and I'm looking into getting a quieter pump and was wondering if anyone has experience with this?

Any pics of your rays? Pond filters are used by a few people. Usually use the reeflo pumps or other high gph with good pressure.

Check your filter's flow rating then, match it to a pump's header flow at the height (full length) of the return plumbing.

Thanks oddball that's some good advice. I'm thinking of buying the pentair whisperflow 1/2. I'll check the flow rates and see if it matches my 18" hayward sand filter
