Im curious about using table salt in tiger tanks. I've heard of people doing this b4, but never tried it myself.
If u do use the salt, how much do u put in, and what does it do for the fish?

hell no theres iodine in table salt you should use aquarium salt, non iodized. Same a tbsp per 10gals some say 1tsp per 5gal.

i use kosher salt, just a dollar at my local grocery store

no need to use aquarium salt. just buy rock salt used for water softeners. i use the morton solar salt. its pure NaCl, same stuff sold in the boxes of "aquarium salt"

How much to use? 1 tsp per 10 gal??

i personally use 1tbsp per 5gal. these are the directions listed on API's carton of aquarium salt. i do this everytime i do a water change (i add salt for the amount of water i replaced). been doing this for a long time with no issues

Do u still add dechlorinator along with the salt at water changes. Im gonna b doing a 50% wc tonight. I usually just use "Stress Coat" to remove the chlorine and metals. Can I add the salt along with that?

yes, i use seachem prime while im adding the fresh water. after the tank is full, then i add the salt
