Someone ive been speaking with told me he puts in bi carb and quite a bit i forget but when i worked it out it seemed like a lot

he told me it helps keep the water crystal clear

is there any truth in this?

I'm pretty sure it buffers the pH up.

It's a buffer and a good way to cause swings in your pH. No reason to do that. Clear water is achieved through quality mechanical filtration and water changes.

:iagree: I knew someone that did this for a period of time and their PH was never stable.

I buffer my water with it b/c the PH 5ish from the tap and my Kh is 0.

Pain in the butt to keep stable.
