I posted pictures of my supposed Zz female FH on here about a week ago.

Over the last 3 days its grown a hump, its only 1.5-2 inches long.

Does this maybe mean its not a female?

I will post pics of this tomorrow when i get my camera back (If you saw the pics you will know why)

Also i need to know if the decoration in my tank will take affect on my FH.

I really like the blue background with black sand but ive been told black will wash out my FH is this true?

Any feedback or even picks of washed out or colorfull FHs in black tanks would be greatly appreciated!

Here's my Vieja sysnspilus & the tank has a black background....

Actually that tank is acrylic with permanent black back ground...any fish that i place in that tank seems to be fine color wise...At the moment there's no gravel but before it had redish pinkish & the fish were fine as well...

Do a search on this forum for 'black and background', you'll get plenty of info, and examples of FH kept in tanks with black backgrounds with no "fading out" issues. In a tank with a blue background, and black sand, your fish will not wash out.
