My red arowana suddenly stopped eating. She's been eating like a pig in the past and just yesterday she stopped touching the superworms. Tried to throw in shrimps, but still didn't touched it. Filtration is good, doing 30% wc once a week, only fish in the tank. She still acts normally though, swimming gracefully. I just want to know what do you guys do when your arowana stops eating. Many thanks!

How big is it? If it's a good size then it's normal. It might have indigestion which should clear on its own.
Some posters have had aro that went on hunger strike for weeks.

what are your water parameters?

There are plenty of threads on this topic. Aros are known to fast for long periods of time even if water parameters are fine and nothing has changed in the tank. I will ususally let them go for a week without feeding then try again. If nothing, try something different like frozen silversides or earthworms. I had one of mine go for 2 and a half months with no food. Then just got hungry again and attacked the food

how about an aro being selective about what he suddenly does or doesn't eat... i have a silver almost 17" and he ,out of the blue, decided to stop eating fresh shrimp, he just wont take it

Thanks everyone. I only had my red aro for 4 months now and currently at 9 inches. No problems with eating before. I did another 35% water change just yesterday, and threw in a couple of guppies for her to eat. Hope that she'll eat soon. Many thanks.
