This is literally only the second time I've fed my Pacu beef heart and now she chases all of her small tank mates around! She never used to do that before!

Does meat bring out some sort of instinct out of them?

Anyone? Hellooooooo? She's calmer today, but I was still wondering why she was being so aggressive yesterday!

I doubt it but then again it may.

i have never heard anything about meaty foods causing an increase in aggression, in any fish species. pacu are omnivores and eat plant and animal matter in the wild. the only thing that increases aggression or prey drive in fish is feeding them live prey, something they have to actually hunt or chase down, with that being said feed ur pacu veggies and sometimes certain meaty foods....stay away from beef heart. fish dont digest mammalian meat well. some members feed lettuce, peas, cucumbers and etc. as far as meaty foods, insects, pieces of fish filets, shrimp, also a good pellet would be great as well....good luck....

Too much protein make my horses nervous and restless.. too much protein makes my arow moody so yes i would say it could change their mood due to the increase in protein,... they thrive on veggies.. so just a little protein for a treat and the veggies as the staple..

Yeah, definitely. The beefheart is a once-a-month sort of thing.

Aros eat veggies?
