Because I do now and I sure do need help with it. It's being setup on my 150 gal Sydodontis Eupterus species tank.
First thing I've noticed is I think it needs a motor. Other then I put the sump/box part under the tank and put the part that looks like a power filter on the tank rim.
I assumed somewhere a motor is hooked up and you use the tubes and pipes to connect the power filter looking thingee to the sump thingee.
I think I may need more tube and pipe thingees as well going by the distance.

take a look...

I have the manual and documntation to one I just purchased off CList..

power filter? i think your tlking about the overflow box. thats how the water enters the sump, either you make one using pvc pipe or drsfosterandsmith.com sells them already made. and your going to need a pump to bring the water back to the tank. hope that helps.

whats the point of a tidepool sump...might as well just get a big HOB...bio wheels SUCK

what is a BIG hob:ROFL:? lol i'd prefer a sump over a HOB anytime.

Gravity brings the water into the sump (tidepool) & a pump (motor) pushes it back up into the tank. There's a million things that can go wrong in that plumbing process, so do some searching on sump plumbing.

Siphon overflow boxes fill me with terror....so easy to go wrong and flood. We won't even sell or install em anymore, many insurance companies won't cover flood damage caused by them. For the 25 bucks or so...get the tank drilled.

Oh, and yeah, you need a pump...
