Hey Everyone, Just wondering does it matter if a stingray should be first in the tank before adding other fish? Or it doesn't matter when to add the stingray to an existing community?
Dont think it makes a big difference, just be sure your tank can handle the bioload of a ray because they are big n messy and produce tons of ammonia. And make sure tankmates arent small enough to be covered by the disc or they may end up as snacks
I always make sure fish are used to the tank first. If you add fish after the ray is already established the ray will have a better chance of pouncing on the fish and trying to eat it
Hey thanks for the replies, defiantly will make sure fish is first than. And of coarse keep there size in consideration. Will be looking into hystrix stingrays mainly because back when I was really considering rays did tons of research on them...
I know a guy that tried to add a female to his tank and the male swam over super fast and killed her soo yea separate with egg crate first until you see no aggressive behaviour.
