I just bought a check valve and there is a sticker on it labeled "in->out" and was wondering what that was referring to.
thanks in advance.

I'm too lazy to upload a pic but my check valve looks like a tiny platic spool of yarn and i'm looking inside of it right now and there seems to be a piece of rubber attached in the inside and then a gap. the side with the rubber piece is under where the sticker says "in" then there is an arrow on the sticker and a gap on the inside then the sticker above it says the word "out".
sorry about the run-on sentence and i hope this makes sense.

i'm guessing the part with the rubber is going to be pushed into the top elbow of the pvc and the side with the gap is going to be the apex or the highest point on the pvc overflow.

Ive got the same one for airline apps. Just blow into the check ......if it allows air through it, then thats the side the air pump attaches to. This check is for air only.....not water.

so i need to attach an air pump to the check valve that is connected to the pvc overflow? I thought i could just have it attached to the pvc without an air pump. actually i wasn't sure i've built an overflow be4 but i've forgotton alot and just now and trying to keep fish again.

The side that you can blow air through goes into the PVC overflow. The direction should be as if it is coming out of the overflow.
