Sorry, pics aren't great. It was hard to get a good pic

that's bad. I'm assuming that, without the blurring portrayed in photo, he is covered in a bazillion tiny white dots.
it's a severe case, & the infection is worse inside their gills than shows outwardly.
knife fish are sensitive to meds and salt too, so you have to treat them at half strength. and that makes it harder to cure. ideally, you'd want to start treating knife fish before things get very bad.
make a thread in freshwater diseases section of forum here to get specific instructions. I'd recommend PMing Aquanero & ask for fast instructions. he should be able to get to you in morning. you can pm other mods in there too.
in the meantime you should do a Lg water change & vacc the substrate thoroughly to reduce the amount of free floating ich in tank.

i always use salt and bump up the heat for this. to treat this problem dont do water change at all you dont want the temp keep going up and down it will make it worst just bump up the heat in the tank.

Ya that's an extremely severe case of ich. I wish I could help but my ABK suddenly broke out like that as well after having it for over a year and nothing I tried help and it just got worse and eventually died.

So, should I get him out of the tank? My expensive Festae is in there?? Is it too late?

the whole tank is infected now. you will have to treat everything no matter what. however, the festae can handle stronger meds & will be easier to cure than a knife, so you might want to isolate him for the milder treatment.
when you post the thread, include every type of fish in the tank.
follow directions in diseases forum about including all water parameters in tank too. ph affects some meds' effectiveness.
try not to cross-contaminate any other tanks with nets etc.

Your festae should be fine. I've had healthy fish along with fish that have had ick in the same tank. If your festae is healthy its immune system will fight it off without a problem. But I wouldnt move your clown knife. Its almost guaranteed he will die because of the stress looking at the stage he is at.

Salt and bump the temp up! I wish you and your ck the best of luck.

isn't that an african knife?

ich goes in the gills first, so checkout your other fish there first, if no spots are showing outwardly.
when caught early, in species that are non-sensitive it's easy to treat with salt, higher heat and xtra water changes.
