Guys:

I am upgrading my freshwater tank in 2 weeks, from a 265 gallon into a 300-gallon. Just last week I had to treat my entire tank with prazipro. All my fish seem to be doing much better after the treatment butt I have to transfer all of my livestock and water over into a new tank. And I'm a little worried if I lost any of my beneficial bacteria.

What will be the best way for me to transfer all of my fish and water over to the new tank avoiding a new cycle and possible lost of fish?

PLEASE NOTE:

This is a bear tank no decorations no substrate . And i have bought a new sump for the new tank however I will be using the bio balls from the 265 gallon, and all of the water from the 265 gallon.

The water won't matter much and I would recommend starting out with clean water, just be absolutely sure it's dechlorinated.

I would get the new tank up and running with new dechlorinated water and have the temp set the same as your 265. Let it run for a few days to make sure the water is balanced out and also to check the setup for any issues. Then, when it's time, go ahead and move your fish over, but take the time to acclimate them as if you just brought them home from the store. Next, move all of the filter media from the old sump to the new sump, including the mechanical filtration pads and/or sponges. This should ensure that you will keep the cycle from your old tank to your new one.

If you are worried about your current cycle because of a medication treatment then I would periodically check the ammonia, nitrites and nitrates to see if there is any fluctuation. If you're good on those then I would say you're good to go.

In that case, put your fish in some buckets/tubs with the old tank water, swap the tanks and add the dechlorinated water at the correct temp, then put the fish and media in. Not much else you can do. Use extra dechlorinator to make sure nothing gets to your filter media.

I don't think that's an option because I believe, if I understood correctly, he is putting the new tank in the same spot the old one is currently sitting in. I could be wrong on that though.

Also, fast your fish for a day or two prior to the swap so that they can last longer in the temporary containers without the ammonia creeping up too high.

Prazi should not affect biofilter and by a weeks time the med has lost effectiveness/potentcy anyway but the transfer of your fish may well recreate some re-cycling(even with transferring water/media) , so watch water levels closely as noted above.
