Convicts recently bred for the second time, conveniently on a flat rock.
Today I moved the rock, and then the father and then the mother into an identical container.
Obviously being stressed from this, they hid, then they came out and about and started fighting/liplocking for a while. They seem to have brightened up after washing out during the move, but the female obviously has no viable eggs to offer.
They have completely ignored their eggs sitting the in middle of the container.
My fear is that they will eat them when the lights go off, not recognizing them as their own young.

Should I move the parents for safetys sake (the eggs are catching circulation from the pump outake) or let the eggs become wigglers (which i really fear they'll be eaten then)

Lesson learned, do not disturb.

Well, I let the female out this morning, was checkin out the eggs for a while and then they hatched before my very eyes! At first i thought a little crap from the filter had got caught on the eggs, turns out it was a tail as many many more sprouted.
Couple guys fell off the rock and a couple flew to the end of the container.
She has been hiding under driftwood.
I'm curious and horrified to see what her reaction will be.. if she'll brood them or eat.. time to find out i suppose....
