Does Spot on dorsal of chanco means female

My chanco has a black blotch on its dorsal does that means female? Kinda acts like a female but was told it was a male from

I have seen females with and without dorsal spots, and have never been able to tell genders apart just bt looking outward characteristics, until they pair up and spawn.

Couple of pics of a breeding pair. Hope it's helpful. The female has a very hint of black, but more noticeable to me is the female has a orange orange/red colouration apposed to the males more yellow.

I would say it definitely has some yellow but a “cuter” face more like your female and she is not too to aggressive
