Hey,
So I've been doing well with the discus so far. In the couple weeks I've had them, they've grown about half an inch. So now I'm looking into an odd idea... A fish that stays at the bottom of the tank, really id like it to stay in the bottom 5 inches of the tank. I don't want a fish that swims on the bottom the whole time, but will stop and rest on the sand occasionally. I like pike cichlids, and was looking into a regani, but want some advice from keepers. You guys haven't steered me wrong yet!

Corydoras spp. and Mikrogeophagus spp. do very well in Discus setups.

Pike Cichlids would be too aggressive in the end for discus IMO. Cory's are a good choice as mentioned above.

I wholeheartedly agree, I would go with cory's also; they love the water parameters and temps you keep discus at and some species will also eat snails.

I'd go with Cory's. Or another catfish. Banjo catfish like to stay in one spot mostly at day time.

Personally depending on what size tank you have I'd go stingray.
