With tanks like 200+ 300+ 500+ gallons does the water amount stay the same ? I can't imagine having to do 75-100+ gallons water change every week. I'm just curious as I'm contemplating future large tank and want to research as much as possible before I go large. Does the water bill get bigger with that much water use ? That's like 400 gallons a month.

Thats like taking a bath twice a month instead of showers. How many gallons does your bill say you use per month?

Yes, it stays the same. Lets say a reasonable regimen is 50% a week on a tank. 50%=50%. Just because its a larger tank doesn't mean you cut back on water changes. However, if the stock level in a big tank is low, say.. 5 guppies in a 300 gallon. Then no, 50% wouldn't be necessary.

I change over 110 gallons a week on my 220
Any significant increase in water bill from doing that large of a water change ?

It's not that the water bill is a huge concern, just trying to get an idea of life with a large tank and the mental adjustments that would go with it. With the faucet tube water changer, it wastes a lot of water in the process of removing the water. I would imagine if you take out 110 gallons you probably waste at least half that just to remove it. The size different is also a bit intimidating. I have a tank that is 4ft long and there are tanks that are double that, 8 or 10 ft would be a whole other reality shift for me. There's no real wall space for anything over 5ft but If I really had to, I could fit an 8ft tank but it would cover up the window and curtains or I could put it on the patio (no yard), its ground floor.

get a hose with a pump attached to it. it's what i did for when i had 450g. it took less than 30min for water change
