So I was browsing Cragislist this morning and ran across this gem......GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR This is the body of the ad.

25 gallon fish tank with lid, filter, decorations, food, gravel cleaner. Also an Oscar, pacu. Plecosamus and dojo eel. Really need to sell since I'm moving. Will take a reasonable offer.

With a stock list like that it's obvious they don't know anything about fish keeping and just followed the advise of a very misinformed Petsmart/Petco employee. What makes me angry is the big chains stores are still selling Pacu and list Oscar tank size at 30 gallons.

offer a dollar for the entire setup and see if they'll accept that lol it smells of NOOB that has no idea what they're really doing.

People seem to get extremely bent out of shape over Craigslist. People will do what they want. That's how life goes. I look at it this way..... either call them and offer advice, or just move on. There's no sense in getting worked up over stuff like this.

We (Petsmart) are actually in the process up re-doing all of care guides and animal tags because of this. It's become very apparent that a lot of stores push sales entirely too much based on the misinformation on the tags, which results in customer complaints (and obviously animals that get injured, killed or dumped) rather than employees referring to store policy to not sell animals that are clearly not suited for the customer's level of experience or ability to care properly for the animals.

Hopefully this helps a little bit, since all fish and animals have to be sold with the care guides which now have semi-decent information and the tags have more appropriate information for the customers to rely on. Still going to be a ton of animals sold that shouldn't be, my boss loves selling pacu for small community tanks, for example. *headdesk*

All petsmart are different... so what yours may be doing, other may not be. My pets mart doesnt sell pacu, and they are relatively ok with fish knowledge.

It's corporate, all stores will be in the process of doing this. The actual animals that come in varies from store to store because that's up to the pet care manager and/or state laws.

I'll believe it when I see it. :P
