"Rescued" this little guy from a tupperware bowl a few days ago. My girlfriend's sister got him from a teacher who was keeping two of them in the bowl with no water or anything. I have a 125 for him if I can grow him out some, although I feel bad for keeping something that gets so large. Anyway, I know some shedding is normal, but it looks like he has been for the past couple of days - it is clearly visible in this picture. He is currently in a 10g. He has a spot to get out of the water if he pleases, although I know they are mostly aquatic. Does he look ok?

Seems to look ok. The fuzzy look should go away after he's been in sufficiently hydrated. Those little guys grow so much and his shell being dried out for awhile probably is the cause. As long as he is eating and active don't worry. Common Snappers will bask if given the opportunity. Nice save and good luck.

Thats what I thought, thanks for the input!

I have seen these guys missing half their shells after being run over. It is amazing to me how resilient they are. You should have nothing to worry about as long as all husbandry issues are corrected.
