Hello,

Can you guys give me your option about these little guys.
I have 7 cichla of about 3 inch. They eat like crazy, very active.
The tank is 7x2x2 and has no other fish, except a small bichir somewhere. Water condition always very good, there is a lot of filtration. The mostly eat frozen red and blood worms, very picky eaters

I just dont like the look of 2 of them, they eat very well but are always skinny. I lost 1 of them the other day and I think they might have some interal parasites??

anyway have a look in the video, and tell me what you think, thanks guys!
The swollen belly is because I just fed them.

the guys in talking about are at 00:08 seconds and 00:21 seconds

Tje one at 8 seconds has really big eyes meaning it is most likely stunted and not the healthiest bass I

I see a video .

I do see the ones your talking about , but not sure I would say parasites but if they are wild caught I would check with your supplier and see if they treated them if not I would just remember that Pbass are sensitive so I would only use half dose

I know it sounds weird but with my juvie ( 2 inch when I got them ) orino's I grew them out in a 29 gallon tank and after they put on some size and once a little bigger I will be puting them in a 55 then to a 90 and from there into the 400 just because I think they have an easier time finding the food , and smaller tanks = more water changes I HAVE to do . right now my orino's are growing like weeds I bought 4 but end up with 5 and they have grown a few inches already

here some specs of my peacock bass tank

Ph : 7.6 I know not ideal but as long as its stable and you aclimate them right its fine
temp 85 degrees F
filtration : a marineland hob that has bio max , filter cartridges
Plus I have a large air stone in the tank along with a power head that flows 150 Gph
water changes 30 % every 3rd day
tank mates small 2 inch female jack dempsey ( using her to train mine to eat pellets and it works!) and 2 cory catfish to help eat scraps
food : frozen black worms, tilapia cut into bite sized peices, hikari carnivore

I am going to be moving them into their 55 soon .

I hope this little bit of info helps , will be posting a video in a few days soon as my new USB arrives its due anytime now until the 16th

Here is the thing with Cichla and for the most part Just Cichlids in general the ones that are dominent will out compete the others and actually at some point try and kill or eat the smaller ones sometimes it happens quickly sometimes not at all just depends on the fish ya have so you as the keeper have to keep an eye out or you will end up with a fish having his eyes eaten out but still alive !!! Or a half eaten sibling just all kinds of things you get the Idea It's up to you .....Hugh...

Give them some time, and as long as there eating, thats a good sign

I got 4 Orino and 3 Occelaris in there. The orino are not wild caught but breed. The Occelearis are unknow. I suspect there are wild caught.

I am considering a internal parasite treatment, but I feel it might damage the others.

looks a little skinny.. but doesn't look unhealthy to me. i wouldn't assume internal parasites or anything else is wrong other than the other fish are getting the lion's share of the food.

i'm of the opinion that you should let things happen the way they are going to happen. you might be surprised, the wimpy looking one might end up being the biggest baddest dude in the tank. i've seen it happen.
